Sacramento's First Chiropractic Chain Coming to Elk Grove
"The Joint Corp." opened its first clinic in Sacramento on Feb. 27 with plans to open its second in Elk Grove a month later.

A new chain of chiropractic clinics has made its debut in the Sacramento area and has plans to open a second location in Elk Grove by the end of March.
The Joint Corporation opened its first clinic Feb. 27 in the Arden-Arcade area of Loehmann’s Plaza, thus making it one of the first chiropractic chains to come to Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
The Biz Journal reports that The Joint expects it will open its second area location inside the Elk Grove Commons by March 27, with "clinics pending in Gold River Town Centre, the Renaissance Creek Center in Roseville, another Roseville location on Pleasant Grove and Lake Crest Village Shopping Center in Greenhaven."

The Arizona-based chain is headed by John Leonesio who also founded Massage Envy, a chain with locations in Elk Grove as well.
The idea is to offer accessible, affordable chiropractic needs, while emphasizing the routine nature of its services, according to the Business Journal. The payment system is something of a innovation as well, as the business will operate on a cash-pay system and will not accept payment through one's insurance plan.

However, as the Business Journal's story indicates, if the Loehmann’s Plaza location is to be any barometer, there is the chance paying out of pocket will not hinder business, as noted by the location's licensed chiropractor John Cherry:
“Three weeks into it, I’m kinda surprised how well it’s gone,” Cherry said of The Joint. “It offers a chance to practice chiropractic without having insurance companies dictate care and compensation. I don’t have to do marketing and self-promotion — just be a chiropractor. That’s what I was hoping — and that’s what it is.”
