Students at Merryhill Preschool in Elk Grove Plant Gardens
Students planted fruits and vegetables throughout their schoolyard and released butterflies to celebrate the environment
Students at Merryhill Preschool on Harbour Point Drive in Elk Grove recently planted fruits and vegetables in gardens around their schoolyard to celebrate Earth Day. Students worked together to plant the seeds and will continue to water and care for the gardens as the plants grow. In addition to gardening, students celebrated Earth Day by releasing butterflies throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Leading up to the release, students observed caterpillars, their cocoon development and transformation into butterflies. Merryhill Preschool teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
