The Fresh Market to Open Elk Grove Store Sept. 18
This will be the market's third California location.

Get ready, shoppers: The Fresh Market will open in Elk Grove Sept. 18.
The Fresh Market, which has an “old-world European market” feel and will house a bakery, a meat counter and a large produce department, will open at 7707 Laguna Blvd. in the Laguna Crossroads Shopping Center, according to a press release.
The first 1,000 customers will receive a reusable shopping bag and a sample-sized bag of the company's coffee. Doors open at 8 a.m. They will also have chef demonstrations, food samples and drawings for gift cards.
The store will include "a bakery that produces 30 freshly baked breads and 14 different pie varieties daily, a full service meat counter with freshly ground beef, a wide selection of ready-to-serve entrées, fresh seafood delivered to the store several times per week, and more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses, as well as a bountiful produce department with more than 400 items and a large organic selection," according to a press release.
Another Fresh Market also opens in Sacramento and combined both bring about 180 new jobs to the area.
The Elk Grove location will also partner with the Elk Grove Food Bank, giving regular food donations.
