Two Elk Grove Athletes Make TEAM USA for 2016 Games!

Elk Grove residents are invited to come meet the newest member of the U.S. 2016 Olympic Team. 16 year-old Kyra Potter, one of the 16 Americans who will represent TEAM USA in Taekwondo competition at the Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil will sign autographs and meet the community Saturday May 30th.
Kyra, a student at Laguna Creek High School and martial arts Black Belt with Robinson’s Taekwondo (RTKD), has studied the Korean fitness and self-defense style for 12 years. She battled thru US Team Trials competition in Colorado earlier this year to win the coveted Lightweight division slot among the 16 men and women who will fight for the United States.

Another Elk Grove Olympian from RTKD who made the 2016 TKD Team USA Cheyenne Lewis brought home the Featherweight women’s division.
The community can meet these outstanding local athletes during the 15th Anniversary Celebration at Robinson’s Taekwondo Elk Grove. Senior Master Instructor Paul Robinson has taught hundreds of students since opening the doors to his local school 15 years ago at 8161 Elk Grove Boulevard.

The celebration party starts May 30th at 10 am, with a special visit by 100.5 FM Radio from 12-1p, and concludes at 4pm. The special party takes place at 8161 Elk Grove Blvd with music, games, special martial arts demonstrations and introduction of Elk Grove’s TEAM USA winners.
