Skirball Bridge and 405 Closure Updates

Reconstruction of the northern half of the Skirball Bridge is postponed and will require full freeway closure during four nights next week, beginning Monday.

Metro has announced that the reconstruction of the northern half of the Skirball Bridge, which was supposed to begin tonight, has been postponed until next week.

The contractor will begin to construct a deck panel on the bridge, which will require a full directional freeway closure for four consecutive nights next week starting July 18, weather permitting.

Each night, Monday through Thursday, ramps within the freeway closures limits will begin to close as early as 7 p.m. and freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10 p.m., leading up to the full directional freeway closure between midnight and 5 a.m. This activity is anticipated to require the closure of Skirball Bridge for those four nights as well the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
