- West End Art Walk is worth a drive from anywhere in the Valley this evening. The Shops at West End Chatsworth, in collaboration with the Fine Arts Council, are presenting a showcase of galleries, artists, and restaurants in the Historic West End of Devonshire Street. See you there in the cool of the evening, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at 21800 Devonshire St.
- Jamba Juice will be hosting a Jamba Kids Free Smoothie Day on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jamba locations all around the Valley. So if your youngster is 8 or younger, head on over for a free 9.5 oz. kids smoothie.
- Kids Cook-Off finals for campers 8 to 12 will be 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, in Room 112 of Sequoia Hall, Cal State Northridge, 18111 Nordhoff St. In addition to a trophy, cash prize and free cooking classes with acclaimed chef Cecilia de Castro, founder of the Academy of Culinary Education Woodland Hills, the winner of the cook-off will also take home bragging rights as one of the best young cooks in the San Fernando Valley.
- Wreck-It Ralph will be screened for free, 7 p.m., Saturday, at Warner Center Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills. Kids will love this PG animated film. Parents will want to return 6 p.m. Sunday to hear a concert by DSB, called the “next best thing” to Journey. Both events are sponsored by the Valley Cultural Center.
- Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z will be filling the Rose Bowl with about 60,000 fans Sunday, so Metro is extending service hours so you can get home. There will be Rose Bowl shuttle service three blocks away from the Metro Gold Line Memorial Park station to take concertgoers to and from the Rose Bowl. Plan your trip at the aptly named Trip Planner at metro.net for a smooth ride.
