5 Things: Vanilla or Chocolate?

Patch's quick take on the essential things to know, the most interesting things to do and best places to be on Wednesday, July 31.

Here's a handful of things to keep in mind for today.

If you have an event you'd like us to consider for Five Things, be sure to add it to the events calendar. We check it often!

    1. National ice cream month ends today. Did you do your part to celebrate? Americans eat on average 20 quarts a year. Vanilla is the most popular flavor taking up to 20-29 percent of sales with chocolate coming in a distant second.
    2. Need an adjustment? A new chiropractic clinic, appropriately named The Joint, is having a 7 p.m. grand opening at 23333 Mulholland Drive in Woodland Hills. There will be  refreshments, food, and raffles. Win four free adjustments.
    3. Head to Buca di Beppo, 17500 Ventura Blvd. in Encino, through Aug. 4 with the coupon from the Buca di Beppo Facebook page for a free Individual Veggie, Chicken, or Classic Lasagna with any Pasta, Baked Pasta, or entree purchase.
    4. School supplies are on sale. Do you have your shopping list? Here's a link to what Portola Middle School in Tarzana suggests.
