5 Things You Should Know: June 1

  1. The full closure of the Skirball will begin tonight. The Skirball Bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the rest of the week.

  • The 8th Annual is tonight from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Flapper’s Comedy Club in Burbank. For just $10 you can watch nine of the funniest ladies selected among hundreds of comics perform.

  • The Encino Neighborhood Council’s Planning and Land Use committee will be meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Encino Community Center. Among the are: a discussion of the proposed ordinance requiring individual property owner’s be responsible for sidewalk and street tree maintenance; a presentation by Chase Bank; a vote to allow the sale of full-line alcoholic beverages at Farfalla Restaurant; and the concern over realtors’ “open house” signs being set out all day on Sundays.

  • You can lunch and learn with Rabbi Ed Feinstein at today from noon to 1:30 p.m. Coffee and tea will be provided at the free event, but they ask that you bring your own dairy lunch.

  • The National Weather Service is predicting a sunny high of 71 degrees. The low will be around 51 degrees.
