ENCINO, CA — NORMS, the SoCal chain of quintessential diners, is offering two, beat-the heat deals to help patrons keep cool through the remainder of summer.

A new location planned for Encino, at 16573 Ventura Blvd., has delayed its opening to sometime in 2021, due to COVID-19-related restrictions, management said.

The only San Fernando Valley NORMS, in Van Nuys, and all locations throughout Greater L.A., are giving away a free Haagen-Dazs ice cream cup to customers with purchases of $10 or more. The offer runs daily after 4 p.m. through Sept. 5 and applies to outdoor dining and to-go purchases.

And beginning Aug. 19, a second special includes a hand-fan giveaway. Diners will receive free fans that can be used on subsequent visits to redeem a free beverage — either hot coffee, tea, iced tea or fountain drink. The offer runs through Sept. 5, and excludes delivery orders as only valid for outdoor dining and takeout.

The Van Nuys NORMS restaurant is at 13636 Sherman Way.
