Cyclist And LAPD Officer Hurt In Burbank Boulevard Crash
Both a cyclist and an Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer had to be hospitalized following the crash.
ENCINO, CA — A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer and a cyclist were both hospitalized in a collision Monday in the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, authorities said.
The crash happened in the 16400 block of West Burbank Boulevard just after noon, said Los Angeles Police officer Jeff Lee. Both men were taken to a trauma center, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The bicyclist was in critical condition, the LAFD reported. According to the LAPD, the injuries are not considered life-threatening. The cyclist suffered a broken bone, and the officer suffered minor injuries, said Lee.
