Encino Patch Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary

Wow, how time flies! Today, Sept. 20, marks one year since Encino Patch was first launched in the community. 

Patch has grown tremendously and we have you, our readers, to thank for being a part of it! Encino Patch, part of AOL’s Patch.com local media network, was No. 180 to launch overall out of about 850 sites that now exist nationwide.

In one year, we've been able to bring you news faster than ever before and tell you about things you wouldn't know otherwise. We're proud of that. That is why we are here—we want Encino Patch to be the No. 1 place where you get your local news and information and hear about nearby events. 

We're so grateful to our readers for participating in the growth of the site  by contributing comments, news tips and story ideas. We have a terrific team of freelance writers who have brought stories—from , and to , and coverage, and more—to the thousands of readers who visit the site daily.

We also have a new group of bloggers in our Local Voices section writing on a variety of topics, such as housekeeping, gardening, family and marriage. They're sharing their personality and expertise, and engaging our readers in discussions.
