Free Health Screenings for Kids

Health fair on Saturday in Canoga Park to offer medical screenings and dental work; no ID or insurance required.

Local children can get a free health, dental and developmental screening this weekend at a health fair in Canoga Park.

The fair is to be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Child Development Institute's Early Learning Center, 7260 Owensmouth Ave., Canoga Park. The institute is hosting the event in partnership with Providence Tarzana Medical Center and Pediatric Acute Care Medical.

Doctors and specialists from Encino and Tarzana will administer free dental work, vision tests, and blood pressure and hearing screenings for children, newborns to 12-year-olds. There will also be prenatal screenings for pregnant women.

Information will be available on local resources that can help families establish healthy lifestyles and deal with childhood obesity and untreated ailments.

No identification is required, and children who have no insurance are welcome.

There will be booths for local businesses and organizations, plus games, prizes and more.
