Gusty Winds, Warmer Weather Ahead In Encino-Tarzana
The National Weather Service announced that much of LA County would experience extreme winds due to Santa Anas through Thursday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A Santa Ana wind event begins in Southern California Tuesday bringing clear skies and warmer weather through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Expect windy weather over the next few days, according to reports. A wind advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 3 p.m. Thursday in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles County city and mountain areas, Santa Monica Mountains, Santa Clarita Valley, and Ventura County valleys.
In Los Angeles, expect windy weather in the San Fernando Valley areas of Woodland Hills, Northridge, Burbank and Universal City.

In Malibu, expect gusty winds to affect travel on portions of Kanan and Malibu Canyon Roads and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
Expect severe winds in the areas of Ventura County Coastal Valleys, including the cities of Santa Paula, Fillmore, Ojai, Piru, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Newbury Park.

Orange County inland cities, including Santa Ana, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Orange, Fullerton, and Mission Viejo, would start feeling the effects Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, they said.
Northeast winds could blow sustained from 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, they said.
In the Santa Monica Mountains, winds were expected to blow between 25 to 35 miles per hour with 60 miles per hour gusts expected.

"Gusting winds may blow around unsecured objects," an NWS spokesperson said. With such strong winds, downed tree limbs and power outages were possible.
According to the National Weather Service, driving on the eastern Ventura County Valley highways could be dangerous, especially on the 101, 126 and 24 Highways.
"Use extra caution while driving, especially if operating high profile vehicles," they said.
Winds will give way to a warm weekend across the Southland.
