Light Rain To Give Way To Sunny Skies In Encino-Tarzana

Los Angeles got a little rainfall Tuesday, but a warmup is in store.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Angelenos awoke to wet weather Tuesday morning, but cloudy skies are expected to give way to a sunny week across the Southland.

Scattered showers dampened parts of Los Angeles County early Tuesday morning, but the rain had largely petered out by the morning rush hour. Despite the cloudy skies Tuesday, a warm-up is in store for Los Angeles with daytime highs expected to jump 12 degrees to by Friday. According to the National Weather Service, the Tuesday high in Los Angeles was expected to reach 65 degrees, climbing to 77 degrees by Friday.

The overnight storm that started dropping rain around 10 p.m. Monday in Santa Barbara County moved into the Los Angeles area before midnight, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Rourke.

Rainfall totals were not expected to exceed 1/10 of an inch, Rourke said.

The next chance for rain on Sunday, according to the NWS.

A high surf advisory was in effect until 2 p.m. for Catalina and Santa Barbara islands and the Los Angeles County coast.
