Man Found Shot to Death in Lake Balboa Home Identified

A man who had been shot and was found dead at a home in Lake Balboa was identified as a 34-year-old Van Nuys resident, authorities said.

A family member discovered the victim’s body about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 16400 block of Gilmore Street and called authorities, said Sgt. Steve Nassief of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Station.

It was not immediately clear how long the man had been dead, the sergeant said.

The coroner’s office reported he was identified as Matthew Hanna.
