Openings & Closings: There's Something Here for Every Taste

Opening

JRA Bikes & Brew
owners Vincent and Tamera Gest hope customers think of their new business as a "destination" rather than a retail stop at 5019 Kanan Rd., Agoura Hills. "Tamera always wanted to open a coffee shop, and I wanted a bike store, so we decided to marry the two," Vincent said.

Pieology, a new custom pizza joint is opening its doors on Sunday in the former Blockbuster site at University Plaza in Northridge. Pieology prides itself on serving up pies in under five minutes. The new eatery is located at 9118 Reseda Blvd. and is scheduled to open at 11 a.m.

Art & Frame Gallery
will be opening at 10867 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Sugarfish
is now open at The Commons at Calabasas. The famed sushi chain replaced La Salsa, which closed last summer. "It's pure sushi," Manager Michael Lee said. "We offer a very concise menu, no soups or salads or fusion rolls."

Wahoo’s Fish Taco
has opened its newest location in Woodland Hills at 19960 Ventura Blvd. The new restaurant offers charbroiled or spicy marinated fish, chicken, steak, and tofu fillings in a variety of items such as tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, and the original fish taco.

Pet Pals is already up and running at 10644 Burbank Blvd. in North Hollywood. If you miss the sign, the giant inflatable flea that's an ad for a pest medicine should grab your attention.

Sunlight Restaurant
is slated to take over Mexican restaurant Don Huarache at 10719 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood. There's not much activity there other than a new sign, but we'll keep you posted.

Closing

Siany
, after 15 years The Commons in Calabasas, is closing its doors July 7. "I decided it was time to spend more time with my kids, so I didn't renew my lease," said Caren Leib, store owner. The store is having a major clearance sale through Sunday, everything is 50 percent off. All remaining items will be 60 percent off Monday through Wednesday.

King's Mongolian Bar-B-Q
, a longtime landmark at 9545 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, is gone.
