Memorial Day
Monday Night

10:05 p.m. 6500 block of Kraft Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to respond to a robbery call at the residence. It is reported that a citizen is detaining three possible robbery suspects at the scene. The alleged robbers are described as "two females and a male." Patrol units are requested to respond "code 3" (a priority response with lights and sirens).

10:05 p.m. Cleon Avenue and Strathern Street, Sun Valley
Foothill Division LAPD units are called to the scene of a possible "ADW" (assault with a deadly weapon). It is reported that the assailants may still be at the location, and responding units are requested to form a perimeter to hopefully contain the possible suspects.

10:08 p.m. 6500 block of Kraft Avenue, North Hollywood
The first LAPD patrol unit arrives at the possible robbery scene. (LAPD uses the term "code 6" when an officer or unit is present at a location.)

10:11 p.m. 6600 block of Ethel Avenue, North Hollywood
LAFD Engine 89 and Rescue 39 are called to help an "unconscious person" at the residence.

10:22 p.m. Burbank Boulevard and Louise Avenue, Encino
West Valley Division LAPD units are informed of a "reckless driver" in the area. The reported vehicle is described as a "white Ford 250" (pick-up truck) last seen driving westbound on Burbank Boulevard.

10:26 p.m. Lankershim Boulevard and Cohasset Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD units are dispatched to a "battery/domestic violence" call in the area.

10:30 p.m. Another witness calls LAPD and reports the same "battery/domestic violence" situation- a man is seen assaulting a woman. Additional information is given that the woman involved is now walking with another man, and the woman is described as drunk. They are in front of Jimmy's, near the bus stop.

10:37 p.m. Lassen Street and Lurline Avenue, Chatsworth
Devonshire Division LAPD is called to respond to a possible burglary at the business location. A caller reports seeing a suspicious "white pick-up truck" parked next to the building, and then driving away on Lassen Street toward Mason Street.

10:40 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD patrol unit "15 A-24" is informed by the dispatcher that a female who called the police earlier has now called back. The woman caller reports that the persons from the earlier incident have returned to the scene and parked next to her car. The woman had initially reported a car burglary.

10:45 p.m. LAPD "15 A-24" has arrived on the scene and is now checking out the alleged suspect's vehicle. The owner of that vehicle is believed to be inside the movie theater. (The car is parked in the lot next to the theater complex on Victory Boulevard.)

10:46 p.m. "15 A-24" requests additional units to the Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue location. They direct the responding units to arrive at the
Victory Boulevard and Goodland Avenue corner of the theater complex.

10:48 p.m. "15 A-24" decides to "code 5 the vehicle;" meaning a stake-out, where marked patrol cars and uniformed officers are advised to stay away from the area. They call the dispatcher to cancel the response of the additional units. "15 A-24" will observe the car from afar and wait for the alleged suspects to return.

10:51 p.m. 11200 block of Key West Avenue, Porter Ranch
LAFD is called to respond to a person "with a heart problem" at the apartment address.

10:52 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
The stake-out officers ("15 A-24") look through the windows of the alleged suspect's vehicle and check for any evidence to tie the car with the earlier car burglary incident.

10:53 p.m. A North Hollywood Division LAPD supervisor radios the stake-out team and asks if they see "any property from the victim (of the car burglary)."

10:54 p.m. One of the stake-out officers radios that the "engine is warm... so it could be that they came back."  (The woman had reported seeing the suspects leave the area in the initial call.  Now it seems like they returned to the scene.)

10:55 p.m.
The supervisor advises that he is calling another North Hollywood patrol unit to assist at the incident. The stake-out officer suggests the additional unit to park out of plain sight on the north side of the theater complex. He informs that he and his partner "are on foot," with their patrol car parked out of view.

10:56 p.m.
The additional patrol unit has arrived, and is now at the designated location on the north side of the theaters. An officer wonders how long until the theater closes, as that's how long they may have to wait.

10:57 p.m. 8900 block of Oneida Avenue, Arleta
LAFD Engine 77 and Rescue 77 are called to help a "sick person" at the residence.

11:00 p.m. 20000 block of Septo Street, Chatsworth
LAFD Rescue 107 is called to a "medical alert" at the residence.

11:01 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
The stake-out officer is still surveying the alleged suspect's car. He radios to the other units on the incident that "there's a picture of the female (victim) and a guy, on the dashboard, that does match the same pictures on the (victim's) phone." One of the other officers comments, "Oh, okay, that makes it better, then. We'll wait."

11:02 p.m. 18800 block of Victory Boulevard, Reseda
LAFD Rescue 93 is called to help a person with "difficult respiration" at the nursing home.

11:03 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
The stake-out officer informs that the theaters will close at 1 a.m. They plan to stake-out the car until then.

11:06 p.m. The officers on the boundary are given a description of the vehicle. It is a four-door, silver Honda Civic with tinted windows. It is not a "code 37" (stolen vehicle).

11:07 p.m. Fenwick Street and Jardine Avenue, Sunland
An LAPD helicopter is requested to assist with a burglary suspect "there now," at the residence. Foothill Division LAPD patrol units are also responding.

11:11 p.m. 18500 block of Eddy Street, Northridge
Devonshire Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the scene of a burglary in progress. A caller reports seeing two unknown men attempting to enter an auto mechanic's shop.

11:24 p.m. 14300 block of Haynes Street, Van Nuys
LAFD Engine and Rescue 39 are called to attend to an unconscious person at the residence.

11:25 p.m. Strathern Street and White Street, Sun Valley
An LAPD patrol unit request additional units at the intersection. Another patrol unit had performed a traffic stop at the intersection and then "they got some rocks thrown at them." Two men in dark clothing are alleged to have thrown the rocks at the officers, then fled northbound on White Street. (It appears that the rocks did not hit any of the officers.)

11:39 p.m. 18500 block of Eddy Street, Northridge
An LAPD patrol unit has been interviewing people near the possible burglary incident. They are walking on Baird Avenue near Eddy Street. From the information the officers received, they believe the possible burglary suspects may have already fled the scene.

11:44 p.m. 9200 block of Arleta Avenue, Arleta
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are called to an "unknown trouble" situation. They are requested to respond "code 3" to the apartment building.

11:50 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
One of the stake-out officers showed a picture of the alleged burglary suspect to some employees of the theater. The officer advises that one of the workers "is almost certain" that the alleged suspect "bought tickets to the Hangover 2." After short discussion, the stake-out officers decide to apprehend the possible suspects when they are inside the vehicle.

11:58 p.m. Terra Bella Street and Arleta Avenue, Arleta
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the scene of a possible assault with a deadly weapon at the intersection. A woman dressed in dark clothing is reported to be "pointing an object, possibly a gun at passing vehicles."

12:02 a.m. 14300 block of Huston Street, Sherman Oaks
LAFD Rescue 860 is called to help a person who has fallen down at the apartment complex.

12:03 a.m. 6600 block of Beck Avenue, North Hollywood
LAFD Rescue 889 and Rescue 60 are called to the scene of a person suffering from "chest pains."

12:25 a.m. Victory Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
The stake-out officer radios the other officers that the alleged suspects have exited the theater and are going toward the vehicle. "They're in the car," he reports. The stake-out officers approach the vehicle. The supervisor radios that he's going to assist them.

(There are no more radio transmissions concerning this incident. It is believed that the possible suspects may have been detained by the North Hollywood patrol officers, due to the alleged evidence found in the vehicle. The same items reported stolen by the woman.)
