Rams Coach Undecided on Fate of Starter Troy Hill Following Encino DUI Arrest

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Los Angeles Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Monday he is "still in the process of trying to gather more facts from law enforcement" about cornerback Troy Hill's arrest on suspicion of DUI.

"We've got a copy of the police report and all that," Fisher told reporters at California Lutheran University, where the team practices.

Fisher said he spoke briefly with Hill Monday.

"I'm very, very disappointed in him, disappointed in his choices, but waiting to get the results from law enforcement before I make a decision," Fisher said.

Hill was deactivated for Sunday's 14-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Hill was arrested Saturday morning by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of DUI after crashing his white Mercedes Benz C350 into the rear of a big rig on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Encino, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 7:52 a.m. Saturday on the westbound Ventura Freeway, west of Haskell Avenue, according to the CHP.

Hill, 25, was in the fast lane moving at 60 mph when his Mercedes swerved to the far-right lane and collided into the rear of the big rig that was traveling at 50 mph, the CHP said.

Hill identified himself to officers at the scene as a Rams player, according to the CHP.

The investigating officer noted Hill exhibited signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication. After a series of field sobriety tests, Hill was arrested. He was tested again at the Van Nuys jail and booked for suspicion of DUI, the CHP said.

Hill was released at 1:35 p.m. Saturday on $15,000 bail and ordered to appear in a Van Nuys courtroom on Dec. 14, according to sheriff's inmate records.
