Rams Cornerback Troy Hill Pleads Not Guilty to Encino DUI Crash

ENCINO, CA -- Los Angeles Rams cornerback Troy Hill has pleaded not guilty to four misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest last month in Encino on suspicion of drunken driving, it was reported Thursday.

Hill -- who was arraigned Wednesday -- is charged with one count each of driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, driving on a suspended license and driving without a license, Frank Mateljan of the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office said.

The charges stem from his Nov. 19 arrest by the California Highway Patrol.

He was taken into custody at about 7:55 a.m. in Encino, after his white Mercedes-Benz C350 crashed into the rear of a big rig on the Ventura (101) Freeway, west of Haskell Avenue, according to the CHP.

Hill, 25, was in the fast lane, traveling at about 60 mph, when he swerved to the far-right lane and the Mercedes struck the rear of the big rig that was traveling at around 50 mph, the CHP said.

Hill identified himself to officers at the scene as a Rams player, the CHP reported.

The investigating officer determined that Hill exhibited signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication and arrested him after a series of field sobriety tests, the CHP said. He was tested again at the Van Nuys jail and booked on suspicion of DUI.

Hill was released the same afternoon on $15,000 bond.

A pretrial hearing is set Jan. 10 in Van Nuys.
