Â
2:34 a.m. 11500 block of Kittridge Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to respond to an "ADW" (assault with a deadly weapon) at the location. A caller reports several people allegedly assaulting a single victim. Patrol units are requested to respond "code 3." Additional information given is the people are fighting in the middle of the street.
Â
2:37 a.m. 6600 block of Beck Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to another "ADW" incident at the location, which is possibly the same incident being reported by a different caller. This caller describes a group of people arguing and fist-fighting in the street, and an "unknown victim possibly hit by a vehicle." The LAPD helicopter, "Air 16," is responding to assist.
Â
2:38 a.m. 6600 block of Irvine Street, North Hollywood
The first North Hollywood Division patrol unit arrives at the scene and advises the dispatcher that the "better location" for the incident is on Irvine Street, where a large group of people are observed.
Â
2:39 a.m. 6600 block of Beck Avenue, North Hollywood
The LAPD helicopter, "Air 16," is now in the sky above Beck Avenue and Kittridge Street and requesting if there is any information on possible weapons witnessed at the scene. No weapons were described by the callers, but the incident may be "gang-related."
A North Hollywood Division patrol unit arrives at the Beck Avenue scene and observes several people disperse in different directions.
Â
2:40 a.m. 11500 block of Kittridge Street, North Hollywood
"Air 16" spots a car traveling northbound on Farmdale Avenue from Kittridge Street, and it stands out because one of the car doors is open with a person hanging out. The LAPD air unit advises the ground units (LAPD patrol cars) about the car, stating over the radio that there might be a "possible victim in there." The dispatcher relays the message from the air unit, directing patrol cars to apprehend the vehicle on Farmdale Avenue. (There were no further radio calls about stopping that particular car, so it is not known whether a victim was being transported.)
 Â
2:41 a.m. 11500 block of Archwood Street, North Hollywood
"Air 16" now spots three men running westbound on Archwood Street, and they may possibly be involved in the assault incident. The helicopter unit directs arriving patrol cars to Archwood Street and Farmdale Avenue, where two of the men attempt to hide from the helicopter under the cover of a tree.
Â
2:41 a.m. 11500 block of Archwood Street, North Hollywood
A North Hollywood LAPD patrol unit has just arrived at the location where the two men are hiding under a tree, and the men are quickly taken into custody. The third man is still running down Archwood Street, and the helicopter unit keeps its sights on him.
Â
2:42 a.m. 6600 block of Irvine Avenue, North Hollywood
The LAPD helicopter advises the patrol unit on Irvine Avenue that it looked like there was a party at the Irvine Avenue house, and when they arrived overhead, they observed a "silver Honda" outside. The air unit advises that the occupants of the "silver Honda" may be possible victims of the assault.
Â
2:44 a.m. Archwood Street and Camellia Avenue, North Hollywood
Another North Hollywood patrol unit has arrived at the Archwood Street and Irvine Avenue intersection, and spot the third alleged assault suspect running on Archwood Street toward them. The suspect turns and runs the other way, now chased by the police officers. They immediately catch up to him at Archwood Street and Camellia Avenue, and take him into custody.
Â
2:45 a.m. 6600 block of Irvine Avenue, North Hollywood
"Air 16" requests the "primary unit" (the first patrol unit assigned to the incident and/or the first unit to arrive at the scene) to update any information they have at the Irvine Avenue location. The primary patrol unit radios back to the helicopter, and informs the air unit that although the residents confirm there was a party at the house, they were no assault victims or any assault at their location. The primary unit reiterates to the LAPD helicopter officers, "so far, we don't have a victim over here."
Â
2:46 a.m. Archwood Street and Farmdale Avenue, North Hollywood
"Air 16" advises the patrol unit that apprehended the two suspects (under the tree) to check the grounds around their location. The LAPD helicopter officer observed one alleged suspect possibly removing items from his pockets and discarding them as he ran, after the men were spotted by the helicopter.
Â
2:47 a.m. 6600 block of Beck Avenue, North Hollywood
Another North Hollywood LAPD patrol unit is at the scene on Beck Avenue near Kittridge Street, interviewing possible witnesses to the assault, and dispersing other bystanders. There is one original "PR" (person reporting; the caller who notified police of the possible crime) still at the location.
Â
2:48 a.m. 6600 block of Irvine Avenue, North Hollywood
Most of the party-goers at the Irvine Avenue location have now left, and the police are not going to investigate that scene any further. The Kittridge location is now the focus of the assault investigation.
Â
2:49 a.m. 11600 block of Archwood Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate possible prowlers in the area. A caller observed two men who appear to be "hiding from the air unit (helicopter)" and are inside a "white, older model pickup truck."
Â
2:51 a.m. Archwood Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division patrol officers are searching the area where they earlier pursued three alleged assault suspects, who are all now in custody. The helicopter officer observed one particular suspect emptying his pockets and discarding objects when the helicopter was over them. A patrol officer has found a hammer near a residence, but upon discussion with the helicopter officer, they believe it may have been left behind by the residential property's owner, as the helicopter officer did not see the suspect drop the hammer. The patrol officers continue to search the area for more discarded objects, that could be potential evidence of a crime.
Â
2:53 a.m. Beck Avenue and Kittridge Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD have investigated the incident scene and advise the dispatcher that the suspects are "G.O.A" (gone on arrival). The possible victim is also "G.O.A." The patrol unit radios the dispatcher and advises a "code 4" situation (the incident scene is under control, no additional patrol units need respond."
Â
2:58 a.m. Irvine Avenue and Archwood Street, North Hollywood
The person who originally called the police about the assault incident, does not wish to talk to police any further. There is nothing else the helicopter unit can assist on this situation, so they depart. (Since there is "no victim" found at the scene, no witnesses to go on the record, and nobody has come forth to press any charges of a crime, the police officers on the scene have concluded the investigation of the assault, for the time being. The patrol units clear out of the area.)
Â
3:06 a.m. Roscoe Boulevard and the 405 Freeway, Van Nuys
LAFD and LAPD are called to the scene of an "ambulance/traffic" accident (a car accident with injuries) on Roscoe Boulevard, under the 405 Freeway.
Â
3:09 a.m. Somewhere in Panorama City
LAFD's Rescue 81 is at the scene of the possible "stabbing" call. LAPD has also been notified, and a patrol unit has arrived, but "there is no stabbing patient." Rescue 81 advises Operations Command Dispatch (OCD) that this is a "false" call.
