Small Tarzana Brush Fire Doused

Firefighters kept a small brushfire in Tarzana from spreading to nearby homes Sunday.

TARZANA, CA — A small brush fire broke out behind a car wash in Tarzana Sunday afternoon. Los Angeles firefighters were on the scene quickly and doused the flames.

Firefighters stopped the flames from spreading to nearby homes and businesses, and no injuries were reported, said fire department spokesman Nicholas Prange.

The blaze broke out near 6006 Reseda Blvd. close to the Orange bus line just before 4 p.m., according to Prange.

The fire charred a 50 foot by 50 foot area of grass, Prange said.

The department dispatched 22 firefighters to the scene and they knocked down the flames in about 14 minutes, Prange said.
