Trash Fire Burning In Sepulveda Basin Near Encino

A rubbish fire was reported Sunday morning, creating a large plume of black smoke visible from Highway 101.

ENCINO, CA — A trash fire is burning Sunday afternoon in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area near Encino, sending a large plume of black smoke into the air.

The fire was reported at 1:08 p.m. at 16400 W Burbank Bl. Firefighters are at the scene, according to the LAFD.

There have been no injuries reported and no structures are threatened, the LAFD said. The cause of the fire was not clear.
