Escondido School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Escondido is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Escondido Union School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/9: New Hire Workshop Preparation
• 8/10 - 8/15: All Certificated Workshop/Preparation
• 8/16: First Student Day

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/19 - 10/20: No School for Elementary and Middle School Students (Parent Conference Days)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/8: No School for Students (All Certificated Workshop/Preparation)
• 1/9: Students Return from Winter Recess
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/16 - 2/19: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

April

• 4/2: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/5: Last Day of School, Minimum Day for Students
