Escondido Student Named Cox Scholar
Cox Charities awarded a total of $75,000 in scholarships to San Diego area graduates.
ESCONDIDO, CA — Nineteen graduating high school seniors in San Diego County — including an Escondido student — have been named Cox Scholars and will receive scholarships from Cox Charities. The philanthropic arm of Cox Communications awarded a total of $75,000 in scholarships to the San Diego area graduates.
"The class of 2021 Cox Scholars are exceptional in their resiliency and adaptability due to the pandemic, and excelled in their commitment to their communities," said Sam Attisha, senior vice president and region manager for Cox Communications.
"What an amazing group of hard-working students and community innovators. Cox is a company founded by a teacher and on the principle of continued innovation, and we are proud to help these students thrive."

Cox Charities awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors across its California service areas, including San Diego, Orange County, Palos Verdes and Santa Barbara. This year, Cox Charities awarded a total of $145,500 in scholarships to 34 students throughout Southern California.
Cox Scholars are pursuing STEM-related careers and are passionate about giving back to their
community, according to Cox Communications.
