The White House and the U.S. Department of Education have invited colleges across
the country to join the efforts to end the pandemic by signing up for the COVID-19
College Vaccine Challenge.

San Diego Mesa and Miramar colleges have joined the White House Challenge, to host a series of vaccinations stations on campus in June and July of 2021, some
of which will be in conjunction with the County of San Diego. Appointments and walk-ins
(no appointment needed) will be available on specific dates, for students, faculty,
staff and members of the community.  The vaccines are available at no cost to everyone
age 12 and older, regardless of immigration or insurance status. 

“We are taking this Challenge to keep every student, faculty, and staff safe, along
with members of the larger Mesa College community,” stated Mesa College President
Pamela Luster.

Vaccinations of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will available on June 16 through the
County of San Diego, and will only require one appointment. Appointments in late June
and July will be in conjunction with the White House initiative and the Federal Pharmacy
Partnership Program. This effort builds on the program announced by the President
Biden on May 11th that matches certain high-enrollment community colleges with partners
in the federal pharmacy program to provide vaccination opportunities to students and
their communities. July appointments will provide the Pfizer vaccine, necessitating
a second appointment for participants.

Miramar College9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.10440 Black Mountain Road, San Diego (pool area).First and second doses are available at no cost. Health insurance and appointments are
not required. Vaccine Available: The Pfizer vaccine will be available for adults. For anyone ages
12-15, a parent must be present. For anyone ages 16-17, parents can give phone consent.
Patients who schedule an appointment will be automatically routed to make an appointment
for their 2nd dose. Documentation required: Photo ID and Insurance card (if available).Appointments are available and can be scheduled at coronavirus-sd.com or call 2-1-1.

Mesa College9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.Location: San Diego Mesa College, 7250 Mesa College Drive, San Diego. Park in Parking
Lot 1 (parking is free), vaccinations will be provided in the Lobby of the Student
Services Building (I4).Vaccine Available: Johnson & Johnson will be available for adults, with the Pfizer
vaccine available for minors with parental consent. The county will schedule all Pfizer
recipients with a follow-up appointment at a clinic closest to their home. Appointments: Appointments are available now at myturn.ca.gov. Walk-ins accepted. Spanish, Vietnamese and ASL translations services will be available.
