'Truly An Inspiration': Escondido Mother's Day Photos

ESCONDIDO, CA — Whether it's through their personality, looks, hobbies or a combination of everything, daughters become a reflection of the woman who raised them. With Mother's Day 2018 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across California to share their "mother-daughter lookalike" photos.

It doesn't matter how old the kids are, they'll always be your babies!

Escondido resident Kim Kissling sent us this sweet photo of her and her daughter, Katie Bigelow. The picture was taken in February while they were celebrating the eight-year anniversary of Katie's heart transplant.

"Katie is one of the strongest women I know," Kim said. "She has been through a lot, especially since her heart transplant in 2010, yet her faith in God remains strong. She is truly an inspiration, to me and to so many others."
