'Bella Vista Has Helped Shape Us Into Who We Are Today'
Fair Oaks school holds commencement ceremony Thursday
graduates walked across the stage in black caps and gowns to receive their diplomas Thursday, during a ceremony on the Fair Oaks school campus.
The graduating class had about 425 students, who will attend 84 colleges and universities in 16 states.
"Bella Vista has helped shape us into who we are today," graduate Ryan Fackler told his classmates. "It is time now to take what we've learned here at Bella Vista and go out into the world."

Peggy Haskins, Bella Vista's principal announced nine valedictorian scholars and addressed all graduates.
"Bella Vista Class of 2012, you are amazing," Haskins said. "We really hate to see you leave us... we're proud to have played a part in your education."

The two-hour ceremony included performances by the Bella Vista Concert Band, the Madrigals choir and student vocalists.
Afterward, graduates embraced their family and friends and posed for photos.
"I'm free!" said Angela Alupoaie, who will attend Sierra College in Rocklin and said she plans to go into business. "It feels good."
Kekoa Robello was surrounded by his family and was grinning from ear to ear.
"Words can't describe how I'm feeling now," said Robello, who will attend American River College to study pre-med with plans to become a radiologist. "It's on to the next chapter in my life."
