Carmichael Tire Pros Aim To Please
Shop on Fair Oaks Blvd. has put off rehiring, maintains small crew.

Small business owners tend to support each other.
That's what Jeff Haas says he does.

The store manager at on Fair Oaks Boulevard said he enjoys supporting other Carmichael businesses, including some fellow auto shops along the town's main street.
"Starbucks knows us all by name," he said. "We refer customers to other shops in town if we don't offer a particular service."

Haas has managed the Tire Pros shop since December 2010. Dave Nash has owned it since 1997 and it was a Big O Tires until August 2009.
Haas, who is originally from Sacramento, worked for Big O in Colorado and Washington state.
"Other shops may not get into tires as we do," he said. "Tire Pros offers more services as well."
Haas said he loves the community aspect of Carmichael and is a member of the .
"It's a little depressed right now," he said. "But it's a tight community."
Carmichael Tire Pros has seen a turnover in employees. Haas said the company has put off replacing workers who leave and now has a crew of six employees instead of the 10 they had before.
"We're running it lean, but our sales our on target compared to last year," he said.
The company participates in the Uniroyal youth soccer program that provides free soccer balls to local clubs. This year, they're part of a similar Michelin program.
Haas sends birthday cards to local customers for a free oil change. There's a courtesy shuttle to take you from the shop to your residence while they work on your car.
"We're very customer service oriented," he said. "We'll beat anyone's prices... we're locally owned...we like to go that extra step for customers."
