Effie Yeaw Celebrates Nature Art, Raises Funds

'Painting Where the Wild Things Are' gala and art auction a success.

Nature was celebrated in art and in, well, nature itself on Saturday at in Carmichael's .

The "Painting Where the Wild Things Are" gala and art auction was a benefit for the American River Natural History Association and the center. A live and silent auction was held.

Music was provided by Lisa Phenix and other local musicians. Food was served by Spoons Encore Catering.

"We sold out, the food is spectacular, the wind hasn't hurt us and people are having a great time because it's about the nature center," said executive director Paul Tebbel. "It's our most important fundraising (event) of the year."

Tebbel did not have a fundraising total Saturday evening.
