Events of the Day 5/23: Judge Candidate Fundraiser, HS Sports Playoffs

Today's events of the day are a fundraiser for a Sacramento Superior Court candidate and high school sports playoffs.

Judge Tami Bogert, who is running to retain her seat on the Sacramento Superior Court on June 5, will be at a fundraising reception in her honor at 5:30 p.m. at the in Carmichael.

In high school sports playoffs, the team plays Game 2 of a Best-of-3 series with Yuba City after the Eagles won Game 1 on Saturday 12-6. Today's game is at 4 p.m. at McAuliffe Fields at Sacramento State. With a win tonight, they're in Monday's Division III section final.

The team has made it to a matchup tonight at 5 p.m. against Woodcreek of Roseville at the Sacramento Softball Complex. If the Cougars win, the teams will go a second game at about 7 p.m. for the Division II section championship.
