Fireworks On Sale in Carmichael

Carmichael-area nonprofits and organizations have been preparing for the next week when fireworks are on sale.

Booths opened for business Thursday and continue through the evening of July 4.

Stands are open in the following locations:

-4040 Manzanita Avenue, shopping center

-El Camino and Mission avenues, near Mexican restaurant

-7100 Fair Oaks Blvd., Crossroads Church, formerly

-Fair Oaks Boulevard and Engle Road, near

-6314 Fair Oaks Boulevard, near

- 5631 Cypress Avenue,

-4005 Manzanita Ave., shopping center

-4722 Manzanita Ave., shopping center, benefitting the .

-Fair Oaks Blvd. and Walnut Avenue, parking lot

-Fair Oaks Blvd. and Palm Street, near

Tips for a safe Fourth:

• Have an adult light fireworks
• Whoever lights the fireworks should wear eye protection
• Give adequate clearance when lighting fireworks
• Only use fireworks outdoors away from homes, dry grass and trees
• To extinguish fireworks, submerge them in a bucket filled with water for a few minutes before placing them in the garbage can
