Happy National Hot Dog Day: Where To Get One For A Buck Around Town

Some like them fully loaded. Some with ketchup, mustard, relish or all three. Some even think they should be considered a sandwich.

Thursday is National Hot Dog Day, and Americans across the country are celebrating, some even with free dogs.

Sonic is offering $1 hot dogs all day. So is 7-Eleven at participating locations.

In Northern California, some Sonics locations are at 6055 Main Street in American Canyon, at 151 Bella Vista Road in Vacaville, 6921 Cameron Boulevard in Gilroy and at the Fairway Park Shopping Center, 31187 Mission Blvd. in Hayward. (Search for more locations here.)

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council estimate that nearly 1 billion packages of hot dogs are sold in the U.S. every year, representing $2.5 billion in retail sales. Baseball fans are expected to eat 21,357,361 million hot dogs this year at MLB stadiums.
