Home Fire Extinguished on Samoa Way

Sac Metro Fire investigating cause of blaze.

Firefighters extinguished a fire inside a home on the 6200 block of Samoa Way in Carmichael on Wednesday afternoon, a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District official announced.

A crew responded to the scene at about 3:45 p.m. and found a fire in the garage of a single-story residential home and a column of thick black smoke in the air. Firefighters were able to contain the fire mostly to the garage by about 4:05 p.m., said Sac Metro Fire Assistant Chief Walt White.

Two men were inside the house at the time of the fire and were able to escape with no injuries, White said.

There was extensive smoke damage throughout the residence and minor heat damage to the exterior of a neighboring home., he added.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, White said.
