Massive Power Outage Affected 78,000 Sacramento Customers Thursday
The power was down for about an hour, according to officials with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

Thousands of customers in the Sacramento area were without power for about 60 minutes Thursday night, according to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
SMUD officials said the Orangevale substation was knocked offline, which cut the power to residents in Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Rancho Cordova and Orangevale.

Following the outage, SMUD thanked their customers via Twitter.
We've restored power to all customers affected by the Citrus Heights area outage tonight. We really appreciate everyone's patience.

As of Friday morning, the power was restored to all of the affected communities.
