UPDATE: Missing Carmichael Woman Found Safe, Returned to Family

The woman went missing Friday around 7 a.m., Sheriff's officials say.

Afomia Asfaha, 55,  reported missing from her residence on Rutland Drive Friday, returned home safely, officials announced Saturday.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating a Carmichael woman who went missing from her residence early Friday morning.

Afomia Asfaha, 55, was last seen at her home in the 6100 block of Rutland Drive at approximately 7:00 a.m. today, according to Sheriff's officials. Sheriff's officials explain Asfaha is considered to be at-risk, due to dementia.

According to a Sheriff's statement, Asfaha is described as an African female, with black hair and dark-colored eyes. She has a dark complexion, is 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.

"She is believed to be wearing clothing consistent with a shawl and a long, flowing sheet-type garment that would likely be covering her head and shoulders," according to the statement.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this missing woman is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 916-874-5115.
