Sac Metro Fire Investigating Fires at Two Preschools
Crews responded to fires in Carmichael two hours apart late Friday, early Saturday.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is investigating two preschool fires in Carmichael that occurred within two hours of each other late Friday and early Saturday, district officials announced.
At about 11:15 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 2921 Garfield Ave at a , according to a news release. The preschool was gutted by the fire but firefighters contained the blaze to the structure, preventing the fire from spreading.

At about 1:20 a.m Saturday, firefighters arrived at a reported structure fire at 5619 Marconi Ave., according to the release. Crews arrived to find a well-involved modular building at a . The school was gutted but again firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading.
No injuries were reported in either fire. The cause of both fires is under investigation, fire officials said.

Sac Metro Fire official said both fires are suspicious and appear to be intentionally set. Anyone with information on either fire should call the arson tip line at 916-859-3775.
