Sacramento Suspect Arrested at Bank for Alleged Identity Theft
A suspicious bank employee alerted police.

SACRAMENTO, CA — A Sacramento man was arrested in Hercules Thursday on suspicion of burglary and fraud after trying to pass a bad check at a local bank, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to the Wells Fargo in the 1500 block of Sycamore Avenue around 1 p.m. in response to a report of fraud in progress.
At the scene they found 26-year-old Stedford King, who allegedly said he was trying to cash a check from his employer.

Police contacted that employer, who said King was not an employee.
The employer also reported that the check number was not valid, and that he wanted King prosecuted.

King was arrested on supicion of identity theft and commercial burglary. He was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.
