Another Interrupted Burglary Logged On Peninsula

In this most recent case, resident arrived home to find man rifling through her bedroom dresser, officials said.

SAN CARLOS, CA — A San Carlos woman arrived home Tuesday on the 100 block of Exeter Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. to find a man in her bedroom rummaging through the contents of her dresser, according to authorities.

After being confronted by the resident, the suspect, described as about 45 years old, Hispanic with a mustache and wearing jeans, a button-down shirt and a brown, farmer-style hat, reportedly quickly left the home through an open rear-sliding door and drove off in a vehicle, possibly a black Honda, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.

Last week in Foster City, a resident discovered a suspect in his apartment, who allegedly requested the man leave as he was still busy burglarizing the unit.

In the Foster City case, the resident of the Sand Cove Apartments on Shell Boulevard arrived home one evening last week to find his door ajar and someone inside the unit, police said.

The interrupted burglar, later identified as suspect Brent Allen McDonald, 30, of San Francisco, told the resident to leave as he was still inside. The resident, meanwhile, reported the intruder to the Foster City Police Department, and McDonald was arrested, police said.
