Body Identified That Was Found Floating Near Foster City

FOSTER CITY, CA — A body found floating in the Bay near the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge Thursday morning has been identified as 31-year-old Thomas Bandong of Foster City, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.

Police received a report at 9:37 a.m. Thursday about a person floating in the water near the base of the bridge, police Capt. Martin Ticas said.

Officers and firefighters arrived and searched the water via boat.

The body was located, pulled to shore and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Ticas.
