Caltrain Fares, Parking Rates Are Increasing: Heads Up, Foster City!
Caltrain fares and parking rates are going up starting next month. (breaking)

Get ready to pay more when you're headed out on Caltrain. Rates are going up for both travel and parking systemwide. New rates go into effect in October.
According to Caltrain officials, fees will cost 25 cents more per zone of travel, which means some riders will be paying up to $1.25 more per direction. What's more, 8-ride tickets will no longer be available for sale and will only be honored through the end of October. (All adjustments to the fares can be found here.)
If you're leaving a vehicle at your local Caltrian station on a regular basis, the price there is going up, too. Also starting Oct. 1, a monthly parking pass will increase from $55 to $82.50 as it will be based on 15 days in a month rather than 10.

Caltrain officials said daily parking fees are not changing.
"These are not the only changes that go into effect October 1, as Caltrain is also tweaking its weekday timetables in order to increase both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction," Caltrain said in a news release. (The updated timetables can be found here.)
