Costco Car Break-In: Suspect Nabbed In Foster City
The 18-year-old allegedly tossed stolen items from his car window as police closed in, officials said.

FOSTER CITY, CA – A suspect in an auto burglary, that occurred last week in the parking lot of Costco in Foster City, was arrested despite the individual allegedly tossing loot from the car while trying to ditch police, officials said.
Officers responded Thursday at about 3 p.m. to the store and spoke with a witness, who provided descriptions of a male and getaway vehicle connected to a car break-in that just occurred in the parking lot, the Foster City Police Department said.
Police in the area spotted a car matching the description and attempted to pull it over, however the driver initially tried evading officers while reportedly throwing items from the window, police said.

Police reminded residents that criminals often choose "easy targets" for auto thefts and burglaries, and to possibly avoid becoming a victim, locals should always lock cars, regardless of whether they are parked in a public lot, carport or driveway, and that valuables should not be left in plan view in vehicles.
