Foster City Resident Input Sought By Transportation Authority

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — People interested in giving input on transportation funding in San Mateo County are being encouraged to apply for seats on an advisory committee for the county's Transportation Authority.

There are nine open seats for three-year terms on the Citizens Advisory Committee, a 15-member group that advises the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.

The Transportation Authority decides on funding for transportation projects in the county via revenue from sales taxes approved by the county's voters.Projects include Caltrain improvements, highway and street repairs, and pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure upgrades.

Applicants must be residents of San Mateo County and be available to attend committee meetings, which are every Tuesday before the first Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in San Carlos.
