Kaiser Permanente grants $340,000 to community health agencies in San Mateo County

Kaiser Permanente Redwood City grants $340,000

Kaiser Permanente’s Redwood City Medical Center has awarded grants totaling $340,000.00 to 25 community-based groups providing health and wellness for residents of San Mateo County. The grants are part of Kaiser Permanente’s National Community Benefit program, which annually provides more than $2-billion in grants across the nation.

“At Kaiser Permanente, we understand that good health extends beyond the doctor’s office and the hospital,” said Sheila Gilson, a nurse and the Senior Vice President and Area Manager of the Kaiser Permanente Redwood City. “Our Community Benefit grants are part of improving the health of the communities we serve.”

For example, a Kaiser Permanente grant to Apple Tree Dental will support access to an oral health program, another grant to LifeMoves supports behavioral health programs for homeless families, and another grant to San Mateo PAL supports a healthy kids program.

Each of the Redwood City Medical Center grants range from $10,000 to $30,000. The recipients include:
