Man Caught On SMC Highway With Vehicle Stolen From Vegas: Police

Sheriff's officials say they spotted the man driving on U.S. 101.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Deputies on Friday arrested a man in Belmont in connection with a vehicle theft out of Las Vegas.

Sidarriss Wallace, 25, of Las Vegas, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and vehicle theft, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

On Friday at 12:19 p.m., deputies saw a 2017 Toyota Camry with temporary places out of Nevada commit multiple code violations while driving on northbound U.S. Highway 101.

Deputies pulled the vehicle over at U.S. Highway 101 and Ralston Avenue in Belmont and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Las Vegas.

Wallace was taken into custody, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
