FOSTER CITY, CA — Four EVgo electric vehicle fast charging stations are open to the public and will be dedicated next week in Foster City, according to city officials.

The stations are in the shared parking lot of the library, police station and community center at 1000 E. Hillsdale Blvd. and will be dedicated at 11 a.m. June 25.

Mayor Sam Hindi, other city officials and representatives from EVgo will lead a ribbon-cutting for the chargers, owned and operated by EVgo (www.evgo.com), which operates a public fast-charging network for electric vehicles on a pay-as-you-go or monthly membership plan basis.

Hindi said in a statement that Foster City "will continue to look for other opportunities to build its electric vehicle infrastructure."

The stations can charge vehicles in 20 minutes to an hour, depending on a vehicle's battery size and charge rate. An adapter will be needed for Teslas to use the fast chargers.
