SMC Officers Fan Out In Peninsula Traffic Safety Operation
Don't be alarmed if you notice several law enforcement officers from other SMC cities elsewhere.

BURLINGAME, CA — Law enforcement officials from across San Mateo County will converge on the cities of Burlingame and Millbrae on Wednesday for a special traffic safety operation, police announced Tuesday. The San Mateo County SaturationTraffic Enforcement Program, or STEP, will begin at 8 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
"The focus of this education and enforcement campaign is traffic safety," officials said, adding that 24 officers will hit the streets looking for offenders. "Burlingame and Millbrae residents may notice that there are police officers from throughout SanMateo County enforcing safety violations, in their community."
This is the first STEP deployment of 2019, and officials say "a number" more are planned throughout the year.
