4th Annual Lotus Spring Ball Raises More Than $100K
Proceeds from Lotus Spring Ball Benefit MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center's New Emergency Pavilion
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – The MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center Foundation hosted over 200 guests and raised over $100,000 at its 4th Annual Lotus Spring Ball on Saturday, May 5th at The Waterfront Beach Resort, A Hilton Hotel in Huntington Beach. Proceeds from the gala will help fund the construction of the new Emergency Pavilion at MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center (OCMC). The event’s Title Sponsors included Michael M. Dao, MD of Dao Medical Group, SC Clinical Research, and DEP Aesthetics Institute.
Attendees enjoyed dinner, dancing, and live musical entertainment from performance artists Thien An Performing Arts, Don Ho, Henry Chuc, and Helena Pham. Attendees also enjoyed a fashion show produced by Runway Entertainment.

Visits to OCMC’s Emergency Department (ED) have grown by more than 21 percent in the past five years and its ED treats more than 36,000 people each year. To ensure it continues to provide advanced, life-saving care to those whose lives depend on it, OCMC is embarking on a major expansion of its ED. The Emergency Pavilion will be twice the size of its current facility which will enable OCMC to double its capacity, enhance patient privacy and ensure the prompt delivery of high quality medical care.
The new Emergency Pavilion will provide OCMC’s served communities with the following amenities:

- An additional 4,980 square feet of space, for a total of 11,400 square feet
- 27 treatment areas including 13 private treatment rooms, with one exclusively for children
- 5 “fast track” stations for rapid medical evaluations
- Bedside registration
- Separate entrances for ambulances and walk-in patients
- Enhanced space for physician consultations
- A chapel and healing garden
- A designated paramedic area
