5 Things for the Weekend in Fountain Valley: Smoothies, Sauce and Surfing

It's Friday, time to have some fun.



1- Friday is Talk in an Elevator Day. What's the strangest conversation you've ever heard on an elevator?  Tell us in the comments.

2 - Fountain Valley's Lilia Khatu Vu was eliminated in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Girls Junior Golf Championship, held at Sycamore Hills in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After beating Marijosse Navarro (San Antonio) 4&3 in the Round of 32, she lost to Lakareber Abe (Angleton, TX) 2&1. Congrats to Lilia on making Fountain Valley proud. 

3 - Taste of Italy will being all the great things about Italy to you at the Discovery Science Center on Saturday and Sunday. Participants can pasta and pizza cooking demonstrations, search for the best marinara sauce in Orange County, and celebrate great Italian art with the “Mona Lisa” drawing competitions on both days. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

4 - Jamba Juice will be hosting a Free Smoothie Day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at select Jamba locations

5 - The Vans U.S. Open of Surfing will continue over the weekend in Huntington Beach. Friday's events include the fourth round of the men's competition, musical performances by Modest Mouse and Matt Costa and the BMX qualifier. Saturday is the BMX Finals and Sunday is the Skate qualifiers and Finals. Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway. Click for full schedule.
