Staying home helps all of us protect the most vulnerable in our population by minimizing their exposure to the virus. Per Gov. Gavin Newsom's order, most of Orange County residents are self-quarantining at home, leaving only for "essential services" like grocery getting or pharmacy visits.

Many residents who work in"non-essential" businesses are feeling the sting of the shutdown this week, both mentally and physically.

In an effort to address the concerns of many residents, they released the counts by city, of infected people who are undergoing self-quarantine or are at area hospitals receiving treatment for the virus.

Previously, officials were concerned that knowing what city residents resided in could create unnecessary fear. "Knowing the city where a patient resides does not offer any protection from a public health standpoint," they wrote on the OC Health Website. Still, the concerns of residents and officials who wished to spread transparency ultimately won out.
