Brookhurst Off-ramp Claims 'Worst Intersection' Crown

The Brookhurst Street off-ramp from southbound Interstate 405 was named by Fountain Valley Patch readers as the city's most trecherous intersection.

Out of 85 total votes, the off-ramp received 49 percent of them with 42 votes. The intersection of northbound Bushard Aveune and Talbert Avenue was a close second with 37 votes, which accounted for 42 percent of the total.

Here's what some of you had to say during the nomination process:

• There is a yield sign clearly posted, yet people come flying off the freeway and then try to go all the way across to get into the left hand turn pocket for eastbound Talbert. A motor cop could have a field day there. --
• Agree with Gavin--that is the worst. Cars either stop completely there, or rush over all of the lanes to get into the EB Talbert left hand turn lane. Its a nightmare. I cringe every time I drive over the bridge and see cars coming off the freeway. I slow down almost immediately to avoid a car coming across the lanes and sideswiping me. --
